Why don't email markups work in the Web UI?

In the quick add task, I would like to be able to write the following:

Get some work done #today ! @home

and it works! It should be very simple to re-use the same engine in the Web UI that is currently used in processing emails.

Thanks for the suggestion. We can't comment on a timeframe for implementation, but this is on our to-do list.
