Hi,

i like it to comment my tasks before i check them off. This is to remember to things i have done to complete the task.

Nevertheless, although iam able to archive tasks or better say folders, the checked off task is removed anyway from toodledos server after 2 years. Is there a better way/workflow to archive tasks?

Upgrade to Pro Plus? ;)

Not sure what you mean by "better way/workflow".
It seems that you are backing up your completed tasks using the Export tool: http://www.toodledo.com/tools/connect_csv.php
Or, perhaps the tool that backs up all of your Toodledo data:
http://www.toodledo.com/tools/connect_xml.php

You can import the data into Excel, or into another spreadsheet program, or even into a database.

Since iam new to toodledo I don't know all tricks which toodledo offers. Maybe there is another possibility to archive such things. For example I could imagine that there is an automated way to get tasks with notes in the notebook. I just wanted to ask for your workflow and how you handle things.

I backup my Toodledo data every month using the XML export and I have a repeating task that reminds me to do the backup. There is no automated way of backing up that is available in Toodledo. I suppose you create something but it would be quite a complex job.

I use Toodledo on my iPhone and my iPad so, in a way, it is an additional backup, but I have both devices set to sync on startup, so if I make a mistake and I don't notice it right away, I could end up with incorrect or missing data on the two devices and on the website.

The backups have been useful when I've tried various iPhone apps that sync with Toodledo and there was a problem with the synchronization. Twice I've had to delete all my tasks and restore from a recent backup. FWIW, I've never had a problem with official Toodledo app.

I have a reminder it TD to back it up every week. It's pretty easy now to back it up completely.

Me too. Pasting this backup link into the task note makes it pretty mindless.
