They are held as long as you have them set to be held in your account settings under the "Delete Completed Tasks" section.

Given that Maureen has a Basic subscription, doesn't that mean that the answer is "1 week"?

You can keep completed tasks for as long as you'd like regardless of your subscription, they'll just be hidden depending on your subscription level.
