Suggestion to improve Firefox sidebar

When creating a due date for a new task in the Firefox /Toodledo sidebar, the calendar icon opens to drop down menu. Viewing an actual calendar would be extremely helpful. Often times I need to open another calendar program. And it's actually bothersome since I use this every day.
