Hiding notes when viewing tasks

(New here, so I hope this isn't a repeat question. I did do a quick search and didn't fins anything appropriate.)
Is there a way to make the small notes that are associated with a task hidden by default? I keep collapsing them to hide them, then whenever I change views (between Folder view and Main view, for instance) they show up expanded again. I sometimes have quite long notes for many different tasks so having to scroll down hiding each one gets tedious quickly.

Yes. Click the "Hide Notes" or "Hide Details" link in the toolbar near the top of the list.
