To-Do List on iPhone Calendar

I was able to set up the iPhone calendar to display my to-do list items, but it seems to only show the item on the day that it is due. I usually have my to-do list with things that need to get done but not necessarily on a certain day - basically I would like to see all my To-Do items on the current day and have them roll over to the next day if they aren't completed. Hopefully that makes sense... is this possible?
