...but always used Ultimate To Do List with sync so I could use their widgets, and some other features (like nagging reminders). I've done the same ever since I learned of this app. Plus this app was supported on my Amazon Fire tablet and Samsung watch, so it was great, but this is going away, so unless you want to take your chances with sideloaded apps, this is no longer an option. I love the look and functionality of the mobile and tablet versions, but the loss of Widgets is painful to me. |

Thank you for this! I have a daily task and couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why it wouldn't go away. As you said, it's no longer an issue, but man I was pulling my hair out for a day. I'm just glad it wasn't something I was doing wrong.

Score: 0
Hi Bob,
Not sure I can help with your problem, but I can confirm that I'm in and out of the Browser interface constantly throughout the day and I haven't had any issues with connectivity or components loading. I'm in Cleveland Ohio, so if you're in a different region, it's possible there's an issue with a network trunk or something, but if this is the only service giving you trouble, I'm inclined to think that's not the case and it seems more likely your connection to Toodledo.com is the extent of the issue. If you haven't already done so, try clearing browser cache and temp files and relaunching the browser. If that doesn't help, a tool like Fiddler can help show you if you have network traffic being blocked. Good luck! This message was edited Mar 07, 2025. |

I was a paid subscriber to this product and was disappointed to hear it was going away. As a result, I reinstalled the Toodledo Mobile Apps (phone and tablet), and I have to say the new Next Gen apps are gorgeous! The original apps were kinda ok, but when they switched over and began development on the next gen apps, it was a mess. functionality no longer worked in Legacy and wasn't available in Next Gen, etc. They've done an amazing job with the next gen apps and I do not miss this Ultimate To Do app at all.

To my knowledge, the data is not cached on the local worksation or mobile device. If you perform backups of your data, you can choose the option to restore your database. However, I don't think you can selectively restore. You basically take the app and your data back to the state it was in when you took that backup. Maybe that was yesterday or last week or 3 years ago.
I found that when I can't find a task, it's usually because I set something incorrectly. Maybe the start date is in 2026 instead of 2025, or I've applied a tag or context that I didn't expect. If you use the Saved Search feature, you may be able to surface something that is unexpectedly hidden. Keep in mind, Future tasks can only seen 6 months in the future. If you set a due date more than 6 months out, you won't see it until it falls within that threshold. That may even be a shorter period of time for the free account. I don't recall that for sure. |

In the Web Browser, find the menu on the right. It's just to the right of the list sort options. click that and one option is to "Batch Edit this list". Find the option "Unchecked" and change it to "Checked Off", then flip its radio button from off to on. Click Save. Every item in the current list is now marked Completed.
If you need to do this for some subset of the current list, you'll have to use your tags, contexts, etc. to isolate the ones to be Completed first. Or you may have to create a custom search. In the mobile app, simply long press one of the items you want to Complete, then you can select all the others to be Completed. Once you've selected all the items to be Completed, select the Complete option at the bottom. |

This is Interesting. In my Folder view (Chrome on Windows 11), the row count shifts left to accommodate a scrollbar so that, although it can truncate the folder name if it's too long, the count is always visible at the end of the entry.

Score: 0
I just checked in and can confirm I still have the ability to Modify existing, as well as Create and Save new searches. I'm in Chrome on Windows 11. I don't know that I've ever tried to manage saved searches on my Mobile (android) app, so I don't know if it's expected to work there, but in the browser, seems ok.

Score: 0
This is a great backup script! One thing to note. If your Browser is configured to automatically download to a specific location, it'll work fine, but if you're configured to prompt for location on download, you'll have to specify the downloads folder and click ok three times within that 10 second window, or the script will fail to move the files to your archive location.
I don't know if there's a way around that small issue, but I turned off the prompt in Chrome settings and it works great, so thank you! |

I suspect not yet. This is old, but indicates it's a big project they may still be working on:

That's a LOT of data. Their highest plan appears to allow up to 10GB of data. I don't speak for Toodledo, but my guess is they're not in the business of being a Content Host and your best bet would be to add links in the Notes field to wherever all that data lives right now (Google Drive? Onenote? AWS?, etc.) I don't believe the simple markdown they support for Notes includes an <a> tag reference, but even if it doesn't, it's probably still going to be your best option

I select it from the calendar then hit return Might need more information about your scenario. I suspect you're on a Mac desktop/laptop and not mobile. Mac uses "return" and not "enter" right? I'm a Windows guy and that's an honest question. in my android Next Gen app, when I change the date via the popout calendar, I tap "ok" and it changes without issue. In Chrome on my Windows machine, hitting Enter (return?) does nothing. I select the date and then move the mouse away to allow it to lose focus and it updates without issue. If this is a Browser on your Mac, is it Safari? Have you tried other browsers? Chrome? Firefox? Not sure what's available for OS X these days but whether it's browser specific or Mac specific might be relevant if this ends up being reviewed by a TD engineer. Score: 1
I have always used the widgets on my Android device (Samsung S series), and though I've been using the Next Gen apps since they became functional, I had always maintained the legacy apps on the phone, so I have used the widgets from the legacy app. One downside to this is the legacy app only refreshes every 15 minutes at its most frequent, so if I make changes in the next gen app, it could be as much as 15 minutes before the widget reflects the changes unless I launch the legacy app and refresh manually. Additionally, now that the Next Gen apps are fully baked (Beautiful, in my opinion), I'd like to get rid of the legacy apps altogether, but I'm not sure I can part with the widget functionality.
This question has been asked a few times is these forums, but there's never been a solid answer given and then the top is locked, so I'm submitting this "new" request. Is there any intention to build widgets for the Next Gen apps for Android users? |

Posted Aug 06, 2022 in: How to change date of monthly recurring task?
Score: 1
Posted by snivelyjay:
I have a Task that is set to recur monthly. I want to change the day of the month that the Task appears. I know I can change the Start date but that may not be the correct thing to do - in the past I've had unexpected results from such a change. What is the proper way to change the day of the month that the Task shows up? I believe when you create a task that is due on August 15th and set it to monthly recurrence, it will be due on the 15th of every month. Likewise, if your start date is August 10th, the new start date will be the 10th of subsequent months. If you need it to recur on the 18th of the month, change the due date to August 18 with monthly recurrence, and if you need it to appear in the list on the 12th instead of 10th, just update start date accordingly and it should be respected going forward. What I do not know is if you have a start or due date of January 31st with monthly recurrence, what does it look like in February or April. There is an option for 'end of month' recurrence, so maybe you just have to think far enough ahead to use that any time due date is going to be a day that doesn't exist in all 12 months, but hopefully the logic is robust enough that if you set 31st with monthly recurrence and due date falls in February, it will just assign the last date of the month. |

Posted Aug 06, 2022 in: How is -1 Negative Priority used?
Score: 0
Just curious what folks use this 'negative' priority for. I assume it's to put a task into some sort of 'deferred' or "I don't intend to do this" state. I use the "Someday" Status for this and I've never been able to conceive of a scenario where it was appropriate to set a status of "-1 Negative."
I know there's no right or wrong way to do things. I'm just looking for ways to improve my workflow and this is one feature I've never tried to implement. |

Posted Jan 20, 2022 in: "No Context" cannot be selected in View options in the Beta
Score: 0
In tasksbeta.toodledo.com Under Filter Options | Show Contexts, the option for @No Context is grayed out and not available for selection. This means that the only way I can see tasks without a Context is to select "None".
Confirmed that in the non-beta UI (tasks.toodledo.com), as well as on the Android mobile app, this works as expected. This message was edited Jan 21, 2022. |

Posted Sep 12, 2013 in: slim version doesn't show all tasks.
Score: 0
I have a couple of tasks in my list, but when viewed in the slim view (whether on my Android or laptop), some of the items don't appear. I can provide a screenshot of this, if needed.
EDIT: I did a bit of testing and this appears to have to do with the Due date. If my due date is a month out or later, it doesn't show in the slim version. For example, I created a task today (9/12/2013) and assigned a due date of 10/11/2013. That task appears in the Slim version. If I edit that task to give it a due date of 10/12/2013 and refresh the page, it's no longer visible in the Slim version. If I change it back to 10/11, it will return. Is this by design or a bug? I suppose if a due date is that far out, I don't really *need* to see it on mobile, except that if I'm managing my task list (as opposed to actually doing work), I should have the option of viewing all items if I wish.
