I find this very helpful:

Just open your notepad and pase in this code:

<html>

</html>

Save it as toodledo.htm.
Then open your desktop managment window (where you select wallpapers) and pick your toodledo.htm file as wallpaper.

You can refresh view with F5.

I love the idea of Toodledo on the desktop. Surely something goes between the two html tags?

I, too, would like to know what was between those html tags. Was this a Windows-only tip or does it apply to the Macintosh as well?

sorry, my bad - forum "eate" the code.
here is the link to a working file

http://garroteman.w.interia.pl/desk.zip

I think it is a windows only thing, but then again I don't know anything about Macs.

and for those who are afraid to download that file (which you SHOULD be always carefull) here is a shot of the html code

Let me know how it went and if you like it

Found a free utility called WebDesktop for the Macintosh that appears to work in Panther (10.3), Tiger (10.4) and Leopard (10.5). It was created by one of the programmers at Panic software.

It is not as nice as ActiveDesktop but it gets the job done. After running the app, control-click (right-click) on the app icon in the dock and choose "Open URL...". I am using http://www.toodledo.com/slim as my page to view.

I have a Yahoo widget called Inbasket that you can use with the ruby client to integrate into the desktop:

I went to the stevenf.com link given above but it was a dead page. Could anyone post the ActiveDesktop zip somewhere so I can get it? Thanks!

I'm getting a message saying the file isn't one of the supported image types. (Using Vista.)

I created a simple AIR application using the iPhone version of Toodledo that runs Toodledo and places the window on my second monitor. Takes hardly any space and is much better than having to run Firefox all of the time. Plus, using my application launcher (Dash) I can add tasks directly to my AIR application using the GTD setup.

Any chance you could publish ToodledoAir? I have Doomi and it would be great to replace that with a ToodleDo version.

Thanks in advance

If you have the Google Chrome browser, you can create an Application shortcut for Toodledo that opens in a separate, dedicated window with it's own icon and no address bar/tabs. Good for Gmail as well, or any other "webapp" you use regularly. I'm doing this on multiple computers and it works very well! I have not used the AIR app but this seems like it's a similar idea. Benefit of Chrome is it runs VERY fast, esp. for JavaScript stuff.

Vista Users are out of luck .. active desktop was discontinued and as of yet, I haven't found a way to stick html to desktop in Vista. Microjunk claims the sidebars are supposed to be the replacement feature but as we all know it is lacking.

Although there is a toodledo sidebar plugin I found it to be to small, unscalable, feature poor and updates poorly leaving it unusable.

I look for third party developers to create desktop service software programs for the mainstream vista users soon. (if not already out there).
