Ah OK, thank you for the clarification. I did indeed wonder if this was just a documentation error.

It would be great if you could implement this feature though. I suspect I'm not the only person who would welcome it? Even leaving the mobile sync thing out of the equation, I've still got two or three folders each with up to 50 or so items which I really don't need to see in iCal. It would certainly be great to subscribe to individual folders, especially from the iPad.

That said, I must admit that meanwhile I have found a workable solution using Appigo Sync!

Attention anybody else who wants to sync individual folders:

This is a free and quite neat little discrete utility that allows you to do a 2-way sync between Toodledo and iCal (automatically too, if you want). Each folder shows up as an individual calendar in iCal. Perfect :)

I want to sync a single folder with iCal, so that I can further sync it to my cheap and cheerful mobile phone (iSync).

I explicitly do NOT want to use the WAP service from my phone because I don't want to see all 500 tasks on my mobile.

I explicitly do NOT want to use the Sharing function, because I want to see the tasks in my phones Task List. In fact I rarely use (or want to use) my phone for online data transfer as my data tarif is way too expensive.

But nevertheless, after research, it seemed I found the solution.

At this page:
http://www.toodledo.com/info/details.php#integration

It says this:
You can even designate certain folders as "private". If you choose to share your tasks via RSS, iCal or the Sharing section, your private folders will remain hidden.

So I went here:
http://www.toodledo.com/folders.php

and marked all but one of my folders as private. The single non private folder is the one I want to sync to iCal.

Then I go here:
http://www.toodledo.com/connect_ical.php

And add the "combo" calendar to iCal and get *everything*. All 20 folders! All 500 tasks.

Is that a bug or what have I done wrong? Why aren't the private folders hidden?
