I would KILL for something like this. I regretfully had to move to another app recently because I ditched the iPhone for the Droid. Unfortunately, my choice of phone was more important than my choice of task app, though I knew I wanted to stay with Toodledo. With a good Android app, I'll export/import/cleanup/rejoice!

One thing... I would LOVE to see saved searches implemented. I live in those and it made it difficult to use the Toodledo iPhone application as a result.

I would love to be a beta tester. It is very frustrating not to have toodledo offline version and no syncing capability with android platform.

I am ready for some testers, and I posted a demo video. Please head on over to http://groups.google.com/group/mado-app and take a gander.

A suggestion, if you haven't chosen your alpha testers yet: choose people with different devices.

Alas, I'm not sure I can volunteer anymore, as this semester is going to be intense for me. If you don't get another volunteer with an HTC hero though, I will gladly give it a run some weekend (or maybe in study week, end of February).

I will definitely check out the video though, and continue giving comments!

Do you support Toodledo subtasks?

Subtasks require a pro account, so for the time being I won't be including any of those features. Don't rule them out from ever being added.

Wow...that pretty much seals the deal for me. Subtasks are essential to my workflow. I hope you'll consider adding them sooner than later.

Thanks.

Vin, if I may -- what are you using now that's letting you use Subtasks on your Android phone?

Slim site. It may be a little slower since it's a web page and not an app, but it's nice.

Good news, I've released Alpha 0.3, has complete one way synchronization. I will be accepting lots of people to beta test. Read about features here:

http://groups.google.ca/group/mado-app/web/screenshots-and-features

And if you'd like to test the app, post a request here:

http://groups.google.ca/group/mado-app/t/43f399ad3e033266

PS. Vin, now that I've looked, I think adding Subtasks will be quite easy, so I'll likely add that to my "todo" list :).

Again, feedback is appreciated, so please post in the google group provided above.

Thanks to everybody so far for your input!

I think linking this to 'locale' program for location reminders would be awesome.

I see the current features allow for one-way synchronization from the ToodleDo website to the handheld device. Any plans for two-way synchronization?

maldworth, I'll donate the money for you to get a Pro subscription for you if you'll add in subtasks. Its not a payment, its a donation to make development easier. Just put your payal tip jar on the google group for your app. I really need subtasks and I really want a 'droid "native" app. I've ditched my iPhone for a Verizon Droid (good riddance AT&T dropped calls and spotty 3G).

I first have a few questions about how people use the subtasks.

I was reading: http://www.toodledo.com/info/subtasks.php

and there's a Nested, or Flat view. How would you want the display on android? And the clause that toodledo has if you have nesting turned on, a subtask that is due today will not appear in the "Due Today" section I don't believe would be an issue, so nested or not, it would always show up in due today.

Creating and moving subtasks, well, you couldn't use the drag and drop feature that toodledo has, it would be likely selecting the parent task from a list of tasks.

Ordering subtasks, this would not be supported other than ordering by due date, priority, importance or other sortable options.

Deleting, repeating and all that should be fine to support.

Are there any other key components I'm missing?

As far as viewing subtasks, I'd like the best of both worlds. When I view a project (under my Projects context) I'd like to see the subtasks listed by date then by alpha if there is no due date. These subtasks also need to show under their respective context.

Selecting the parent task from a list would be great for moving the subtask.

Under context view, please add the sort by due date then by alpha.

Great work Vin!

Why not have a group buy program for $10/license to be able to get the official version once it's ready. A hundred users is $1000 and it would give you more of an incentive to finish it right away and will benefit us users greatly as well.
