This is a compromise that does what you want.:

2do, Appigo Todo and Taska app have multi-edit capability. (for what it's worth)

If you were all to copy/paste this part of http://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php ...

Default View: Main edit
New Task Defaults: Status: Someday
Reminder: 1 day
edit
Fields/Functions Used: Folder, Context, Goal, Due Date, Due Time, Repeat, Length, Timer, Priority, Tag, Status, Star, Location, Trashcan edit
Subtasks: Subtasks Enabled with Manual sorting edit
............... ... ... ect

We could see revealing similarities.

Then at last xml-backup / delete / restore your tasks.

That's all you can do.

@Jean
"something internal to your Toodledo account"
mean that if you can log into another clean account (like Corbin) it must be something that is configured differently in yours or for example a character in your task that Firefox can't handle.

If Firefox crash It is definitely a Firefox problem. It should be able to handle every error without crashing.

I suggest you try with this (It will not affect your current firefox) : http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
and below are links to older versions of Firefox Portable.

Then next I'd try logging onto another clean account.
Then modify it's settings gradually like your's were before
Then creating test tasks.
Then importing.

there is a place where software's users can vote for their prefered new features to be developped next..

It must be UserVoice.

Some Antivirus or virus can modify the content of http requests.

As a definitive test whether the problem come from your OS or Firefox, Someone should try moving his Firefox profile to another clean computer.

@corbin do you have the same AV on all four PCs ?

First of all, 3% is NOT a statistically significant sample ANYWHERE. No way to know that it's representative.

If there is 300 people in the forum, that 3% would give ~5% error margin. So it's a pretty significant sample.

... The "average" user doesn't venture here, doesn't use these kinds of forums... Curious, above average intelligence, computer savy, at least to some degree. But we cerainly aren't "average", even for TD users (which are probably somewhat unique in themselves).

The group of user the most filtered by the forum is those that stay on their iPhone. They may also use a different app.
They may have very basic needs, Ex: making a list.

Their complain may not be worth it in their eye, Ex: UI unatractive but can't explain why / how it should be. Many people come here only to say "UGLY" and leave forever.

On the other hand, many complains in the forum are from long time computer users that say, "It's unintuitive, It's wrong... definitely" because they compare it to "Widely accepted best practice" in software / web UI.
So although the later type of comment is not your average user, they are precisely about average user experience.

... what you read in the forums shouldn't really be used as a general barometer for the desires of the entire user base.

Curious to know what better barometer you have ?
And how different you think the forum users needs are ?

For example enter an url, "return" enter note.
The note after get appended to the url.
And clicking it doesn't work / obviously.

Wasn't sure the problem had been reported, It's a pretty obvious one.

Actually the only way I found is to use "toodledo Outlook sync" but It seams to lose a lot of information, like TAGs.

And it lose more information again when syncing Outlook with MLO.

Is anyone using MLO ?

As this is already 90 post long, I don't know to whom you are saying "Shut it, bi4ch and moan about how ugly, Go buy it, Nut up or Shut up!"

If you read the whole thread you might see that some great though and effort went into finding ways to improve specific part of the interface. As a UI designer do you have thoughts on any of them ?

Except maybe for "go to userscripts.org" and "dust off your CSS" your post bring very little.

Edit: I must agree you post fits with the poor title (rant).

I don't really use the notebook or change the settings around that often ...

I'm so disappointed with the way they work...

I agree...

* I never used notes, (from what I read most people don't neither)

* Setting are not to be changed that often to deserve button on all pages.

* every time I start using the app I do a Sync to update with what I just did on the PC.
Now, not only is there an added step (going to setting) but my thumb finger can't reach the top right button. And... when I think about it, What is now in lieu of where it was ? Nothing!

It's very hard to fathom what went on in dev mind with parts of that update.
The only thing I can think of to justify such bad choices is if was looking better on the iPad and it was simply downscaled to fit the iPhone.

PS: By the time the iPad catch on, I'll be having whatever Android phone I can get my hands on, do people carry an iPad in their pocket all day ? they aren't power user by any stretch...
Just saying, Happy downvote,

Example de Suggestion...
---
Modifier les dossiers -> Modifier dossiers

Ajouter un dossiers -> Ajouter dossiers

Dans page "reglage / syncho"

"Synchonisation au lancement" -> Syncho au lancement
" -> Syncho a l'edition
" -> Syncho Fuseau horraires

ouff! Tout un travaille,,,
