We are looking for some translators to help us begin translating Toodledo into other languages. We are starting with our iPhone app, because it is smaller, contained, and technically easier to do. We will be initially translating into the following languages: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Japanese. This was based on the number of our customers coming from countries that speak these languages. Once this is complete we will move on to more languages and more areas of Toodledo.

If you are bilingual in one of the listed languages and want to help, please follow these steps.

[edited to point to the new location for translation assistance]

Thanks for helping us become an international company.

The incentive is that you will be able to use Toodledo in your native language and have a warm fuzzy feeling for helping other people use Toodledo. I am sorry that we cannot offer monetary incentives at this time. We may be able to offer a free Pro subscription to prolific contributors.

Ok, no warm fuzzy feelings. I'll send out some cold spiky feelings.

An extension sounds fair, of course, the idea is to get the translation done. Count me in.

Best,
Jaime

I think French translation is done :-)

@Toodledo: Eh, is something wrong (again) with the translation website? Can't find the project anymore?

Its still there. MyGengo is a little quirky. We'll probably move the translation functionality over to Toodledo for a better experience.

Please include a language selection in setting

I have my iPhone UI in french but don't want to be forced to use the Toodledo app in french based on that.

PS: I really hope your not going to translate the website before solving some basic lack of functionality, documentation and poor design/aesthetics.

@Transisto: Why don't you want the translations done before the other upgrades? From the sounds of it, Toodledo is relying on crowd-sourcing to do the bulk of the translation and proofreading, so it's not like this project is a distraction from the upgrades.

As a native English speaker, I have nothing to gain from the translations, but I think this is a fantastic way for Toodledo to meet the needs of many different users all at the same time!
