We already have a number of useful ways to connect your Toodledo account with other websites, applications and gadgets (Firefox Add-on, Google Gadget, iPhone mini-site, Twitter, etc, etc, etc...)

Here are some others that are already on our to-do list and under development.

1. Native iPhone app
2. Google gears (for offline access)
3. Blackberry
4. Windows Mobile devices

What other ones would you like to see?

Are these read-only connections or two-way? On the connections page, the iCal subscription section says

"Publishing your to-do list as an iCal subscription will allow Google Calendar, Apple's iCal, or many other calendar programs to stay synchronized with your Toodledo account."

When I add tasks using Thunderbird (with Lightning and Provider), which has a connection with my Toodledo iCal feed, they do not show up.

Is this by design? If so, can you change it to synchronize instead?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the iCal file format only provides for one-way synchronization.

If we were to bypass the iCal feed and instead do a deep integration with an application like Thunderbird, then two-way sync would be possible.

Thanks for responding.

If that is the case, then my answer to the original question would be:

1. Thunderbird
2. Windows Mobile
3. Google Gears
4. Google Calendar

Google gears all the way, I'd use it on two devices I have that run Firefox and just in case for my desktop computer.

If you do get around to it could you make sure it works with the Slim/iPhone interface though? Thing is these devices have small screens and the standard interface isn't terribly useful on them.

Some love for Thunderbird/Lightning or SunBird wouldn't be too shabby either.

Hi,
I have three suggestions:

1) provide separate icalendar links for each context and/or each folder and/or hotlist and starred

2) support caldav access to calendars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CalDAV)

3) imap access to tasks (as apple mail implements in leopard)

I don't know if these things are feasible (in particular n.3) but I would love them!

1. Gmail integration
2. IPhone native app

I live all day in GMail, so something like RTM's GMail functionality would be excellent.

OneNote?

Just a thought. For an example of how tasks shuttle between Outlook and OneNote see http://blogs.msdn.com/mel issamacbeth/archive/2006/06/13/630185.aspx . I wouldn't expect Toodledo to achieve the bidirectional syncing described in that link, but I'd love to be able to add tasks to Toodledo directly from OneNote when I'm in a meeting. Maybe with a destination folder so that I could add more complete information online (folder, priority, etc.).

Ability to quickly add a task from QuickSilver (on the Mac) and Launchy (on the PC) would be great. Or has someone already developed these? (I looked but couldn't find anything)

I may be talking about things I don't understand, but if you synced with Mac OS/X Sync Services, wouldn't that open up a lot of other possibilities for devices and applications that also support Sync Services? Just a thought off the top of mind.

Oh, and I second (or third, or fourth) the native Blackberry option. Much as I love the idea of an iPhone, there are a lot more of us Blackberry users out here (for now).

I'll post some interface suggestions elsewhere. ThanX for the good work as you keep advancing.
