I have created a packing list (for travel) using Toodledo. Now I can check off each item as it is packed. But how do I deselect all without having to physically go in a deselect all checkmarks? Do I REALLY have to do this one at a time? I want to reuse this list over and over, and if I have to go in a deselect each item so that I can go in and recheck it that's going to be a pain.

You can use the Search and Multi-Edit function to find and edit the "Completed" field for all tasks in your packing list. You just need a way of identifying the relevant tasks.
Do you use Folders, Contexts, or Tags? |

You can also do this with subtasks or task templates.
