I must admit that 7$ is nothing compared to the great job Benjamin is doing.
Let us be fair:

- This is the only software that is usable and makes a perfect solution for lots of people
- Benjamin does a very decent job replying to all of us
- He does very frequent changes and all of them are always impressive
- His software is very logic and is integrating with TD in a perfect alignment
- I use this software on daily basis and refer to it at least 30 times

In terms of a return of my investment (7$), lets see:
Daily usage 30 times on average
Used on 3 Computers at the moment
Fully synced at all times
I finally managed to Get My Things Done!

Yes there is a lot of things that Benjamin is working on to get this software where we all like it to be, but this is the exact reason why we should recognize that and pay this very little amount of money to show our appreciation to his fine work.

Without this software, I would have been probably still wasting long hours every day trying to find any solution, and trust me, there is no available other solution.

Benjamin,
Keep up the good work

sarois3, you did forget to mention that you even have a pro account of toodledo ...

I live here in Tanzania. The computer where I am typing this will not even deserve the word computer in your country, but I am happy with it. I earn 32,000 shillings per month which are about 28 USD. Not much in your eyes, but it's okay here.

So in terms of a return of my investment (7$), lets see:
Rental fee for our home for one week
Get meal for me and my family for one week
Electricity and water for one week
Partly clothes, medicine/doctor, toys, ...

I must admit that 7$ is nothing compared to the great job Benjamin is doing. Let us be fair: I'll tell my wife and my children that they have to go to bed hungry for a week ...

I appreciate the work of Benjamin too, but I can not afford it.

My pro account is on trial basis which will expire in 1 or 2 days.
I am not rich and i also have a great consideration for money. (who hasnt)
All what i am saying is that the man spends 3 days a week to develop this.
So i thought 7$ is a fair price.

If we can not afford it, this does not mean that it is expensive.

Good luck to all of us in surviving.

Hi Ben.

I am a new ToodleDoer, and I have stumbled across your app. When I tried to download the plugin, I've seen the error message. I haven't received any notification that I need to purchase a license - If I hadn't found your program through this thread in the first place, I would never have thought that I need a license - my first thought was that the software doesn't work.

Consider adding some clear notifications and instructions on how to buy a license, or you are likely to lose a lot of users who will think there is something wrong with your program.

(And I am not buying it for now, as you don't provide any option to try out the plugin).

sarois3, expensiveness is in the eye of the beholder ...

Ben, thanks for your offer, but I'm now looking for alternatives.
However, I wish you all the best, it's a good program.

Hi nologinisgood,

Actually there is a problem with some users when installing the plugin.

That's the error you get.

Yes, you can install and try the plugin for free.
And no the goal is not the show an error message when you do not have a license.

New version will be available tomorrow morning.

Hi Sorkinji,

Unfortunately, it is still not possible... It is the only field you cannot (yet) edit with TU.
It is on my todo list, with the highest priority, but I still didn't find a good way to implement this.

However, you can edit the repeat field in Toodledo's website and the value will be displayed in TU and kept if you synchronize, the only thing is that you cannot edit the value.

Ben.

Hello Ben!

Can you please tell me how the state of "repeat" is?
The way i understand it is that i still can´t set a repeat without Toodledo?
Question came up by a colleague who wants to use your software "offline"!

Thanks in advance,

Ciao,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Yes, "offline repeat" hasn't been implemented yet.
The field can be filled in but the repeat won't happen.

Ben.

Edit:very sorry for my previous answer, I didn't understood it that way

Hello!

ad 1.) Ah, ok, thank you :) !

Problem is that my colleague doesn´t want to use an external cloud for his todos since they are sensitive work-related data and the policy of his company doesn´t allow that.

Is there a plan for a plugin to a sync server which can be setup inside the company, analogue to an own SyncML-server vs. Blackberry/Google etc..? Does such a product exist?

ad 2.) No problem, didn´t saw your original answer so i have no idea what you mean :) ?!

Thanks for your infos,

Ciao,

Steve

Hi Steve,

No plan for a plugin to sync with an "private" server for the moment, sorry.

Btw, I don't even now if such a product exists.

The offline repeat feature is on my todo list but no release date for the moment.

If your colleague absolutely want to use it offline, maybe he can check http://www.taskcoach.org/

Ben

Hi Benjamin,

How are you?

I am an un-agressive taskUnifier. I have just been using your app for a week. I needed an application that could sync a work computer and my home computer to and from Toodledo that I could completely trust. I paid for 2 licences, which for my personal income I can live with.

I should like to know what to do in the case of my subtasks syncing as tasks between my different locations. It is the only difficulty I have in an otherwise perfect app for my needs. I have a pro account with Toodledo

Kindest regards and chin up in the face of adversity

Tony from France

To all angry people,

The goal of TaskUnifier has always been and will ever been to manage tasks and - via plugin, developped by me or other persons - synchronize with different GTD web sites like Toodledo.

The Toodledo plugin for TaskUnifier now requires a license to be used.

TaskUnifier will remain free and open source but the plugins are separate projects and might not be free and open.

I'm really sad to see people being really agressive even insulting me. I suppose all these people are working for free.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your support :)

I don't really understand the problem. When you create sub tasks in TaskUnifier they are synced as tasks (not sub tasks) in Toodledo ?

What do you mean with "between my different locations" ?

Hi Ben,

Seeing your answer shows me my demand wasn't really thought through.

Firstly: When I create a subtask in Toodledo in a task, it is embedded. After, when I sync to Taskunifier, the subtask appears as a task unconnected to the original Toodledo task. This means the subtasks are all a muddle of tasks. Is this clear :)? I would like to have subtask function in Taskunifier and I think it doesn't exist. I need to revise my strategies as i really like your software

Kindest regards

Tony

between my different locations means: Work computer, Home computer & Toodledo. I am using Toodledo as the interface between the two taskunifiers

Hi Tony,

Yes you can create subtasks in TaskUnifier (simply drag and drop one or more tasks onto another task).

Yes the subtasks in Toodledo are synced as subtasks in TaskUnifier.

But I recently discovered a bug which sometimes shows subtasks as tasks in TaskUnifier.
It has been fixed in version 1.7 of the Toodledo plugin.

You can try to update the Toodledo plugin (in File -> Plugin Manager)

Kr,

Ben.

Hi Benjamin, I just discovered your app and plugin and would like to thank you for your efforts. I believe your work completes the missing link in the Toodledo system.

Perhaps this has been suggested but what are your thoughts on clipboard integration, in eg like Things Quick Entry window http://flic.kr/p/9xoDTh
