The options to force a sync in the app are in Settings->Synchronization->Modify Account Login then scroll down a bit and there's two links at the bottom to force a sync in either direction.

In your email subject replace non-alphanumeric characters with HTML character references. So space becomes &_#_32; ampersand becomes &_#_38;

(remove the underscore between the characters above when you use it, the forum won't display them if I don't put them in)

In your case you would have *Family&_#_32;&_#_38;&_#_32;Friends.

It's a bit of a hack I know, but it works.

On the left, you can click on History to show completed tasks older than one week. It's just a search but is that no good?

I'm not sure why you'd want to see old completed tasks mixed with new and upcoming tasks. It could turn into a pretty long list after 2 years. :-\

I think you are possibly using the app called 2Do. That populates a folder called "Home" with a project and 20 tasks one of which is called "Defer ToDos" with a description how you describe.

If that's correct, then you'd perhaps be better off asking the question on here: http://2doapp.com/forum/

EDIT:

I've just tried it myself. You have to tap the task (it will turn blue) and just hold the finger there for a second. No sliding fingers. Just tap and hold still. A little menu will appear above it with options for the task; Done, Defer, Copy, share, Delete.

It's not specifically a tutorial, but some of the threads in the Getting Things Done forum are insightful to how other people use ToodleDo effectively. One that particularly stands out is Proximo's setup (https://www.toodledo.com/forums/5/2660/0/proximos-gtd-setup.html). I found this very helpful, and there are some video's that help explain things.

Obviously these discussions are geared towards GTD.

As ToodleDo says, there are too many ways to use it and it really needs to work how you want it to work. You don't need to use all the features, just the ones that help you be productive.

HTH.

It's the same as the iPhone. When you install the app on the ipad just enter your Toodledo login details, it will sync with the website automatically.

Sorry, just to be clear in case I wasn't, it's in the application itself, not in the device settings. Don't think it makes a difference if it's on ipod touch.

I don't think the app has notification settings there. I think what you are looking for is in Settings->Alarms

You might find the response to this useful too - http://www2.toodledo.com/forums/2/9349/-1/badges-not-updating-on-iphone.html

It just occured to me that I hadn't tried sending myself an email and having gmail filter it and send it TD. From ZenDesk to TD that doesn't work but it seems to work when I send my own email.

This leads me to believe something happens to the email when I forward it manually that doesn't happen when it's sent from ZenDesk to TD or forwarded by a gmail filter. No idea what though. :-\

I've been experimenting to see what works and what doesn't.

What I want to do is have ZenDesk send an email to ToodleDo and have the body text saved as notes in the resulting task. No human intervention.

What doesn't work:

* ZD sends the email directly to TD - task created but no notes.
* ZD sends email to alternative email address, and Gmail forwards it to TD using a filter - task created but no notes.

What does works:

* ZD sends email to alternative email address, and the email is forwarded manually either through Outlook or GMail - task created and notes saved.
* As above but have Outlook rule forward email to TD - task created and notes saved.

I have also used a different email address in place of TD in the above processes so I can see what is actually being sent to TD, and the only difference is that emails forwarded from Outlook have a content type of multipart/mixed whereas zendesk and gmail emails are multipart/alternative. I don't see how this is an issue though.

Would love to sort it out.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, ZenDesk essentially sends a regular email with subject line being the ticket subject and the body being the comments. Nothing strange about it, no attachments or odd characters etc. The email is multi-part mime so I have no control over how ToodleDo picks them up directly from ZenDesk, but I've tried forwarding both plain text and the original email which works ok.

It works fine when I forward them manually (either from Outlook or GMail) just not directly from ZenDesk which only creates the task and doesn't import the notes. I've also tried setting up a filter in gmail to automatically forward them to ToodleDo, but this also creates the task but skips the email body.

It seems that it only works if I forward them myself.

Hi

Couldn't find anything on the forum related to this so apologies if it's been asked before.

I'm using ZenDesk to collate support requests from clients. I have ToodleDo setup as a "target" and when a ZenDesk ticket is updated with certain values a trigger kicks in and sends an email to my ToodleDo account which creates a new task with the required values.

This all works fine, except the ticket notes which are sent in the body of the email are not being populated in the task.

If I have the ZenDesk tickets sent to my email address instead, and then have that email forwarded to ToodleDo, the notes are retained in the new task.

Anyone have any idea why the notes sent directly from ZenDesk to ToodleDo are not importing the notes?

Thanks
